AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME
We are now a local Eco-School label relay for schools in the agglomeration of Annemasse.
If you would like to set up a sustainable development education project in your school, sign up for the Eco-School program! Present in 73 countries, it’s an international sustainable development education program developed in France since 2005 by the Teragir association. It is open to all public and private schools, from kindergarten to high school, and participation in the program is free of charge.
In 2022, the Teragir association and the Ministry of National Education and Youth signed a framework partnership agreement with the objective of encouraging and mobilizing youth in the context of education for sustainable development and the goals and challenges outlined in the Agenda 2030.
We are part of the 150 local relays: organizations (associations and local authorities) that support schools in their sustainable development initiatives.
Our role as a local Eco-School relay is to assist Eco-Schools, Eco-Colleges, and Eco-High Schools participating in the program within our area (remotely or at the school). We provide them with information about local resources that can be helpful in implementing their sustainable development initiatives, and we also provide information to non-participating schools if they are interested.
What is the Eco-School program?
The Eco-School program offers a simple and participatory seven-point methodology to guide schools in their education for sustainable development project based on the 8 proposed themes: food, biodiversity, climate, waste, water, energy, health, or solidarity.
All stakeholders (students and adults) come together around a common project to raise awareness and improve the functioning of their school for sustainable development.
Through Eco-School projects, students acquire new knowledge and skills and have the means to collectively take action. They thus contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the 2030 Agenda. The schools involved can, if they wish, ask each year to be labeled Eco-School, Eco-College or Eco-High-School for the project conducted.
In June 2023, 916 schools were labeled, including 316 new labeled!
Why participate in the Eco-School program?

Benefit from free and personalized support from the national Eco-School team and the network of local relays.
Have the opportunity to apply for the Eco-School label to showcase your initiative (optional). The Eco-School, Eco-College, or Eco-High School label is compatible with the national Education for Sustainable Development (E3D) label.
