Help to amazonian school
Our organization received the 5th Environment Trophies of the city of Nice by Cacique Raoni Metuktire,
Chief of the Kayapo people (Brazil) on June 6, 2014. We are still moved and sincerely thank the city of Nice for this wonderful surprise. During this exchange, we promised Grand Chief Raoni to respond to his request, that of presenting the culture of the Kayapo people to French schoolchildren and to set up a correspondence with a school in the Amazon as we are already setting up with African schools…
To begin a correspondence, we chose the theme “A garden in the heart of the forest”. The Indians live in the tropical forest. They know how to take advantage of their environment without destroying it. The forest provides almost everything: food, medicine, and making objects. So there is no question of damaging it!
The Indians make their gardens or abatis there. They do not look like ours but are cleverly organized: they associate the cultures and distribute them in several zones, each plant has what it needs.
We met the children Kukama kukamiria during our mission in the Amazonian forest to discuss the theme….
